SEARCH study reaches U.N. goals in 2 years
The U.N. 90-90-90 goals set are that by 2020, 90 percent of people with HIV to know their status, 90 percent of diagnosed people to be on treatment, and 90 percent of those on treatment to have suppressed levels of the virus in their bodies. This translates to 73% of all people with HIV havingan undetectable viral load. As presented at the 2016 AIDS conference in Durban, South Africa, the SEARCH study in Uganda and Kenya shows it is indeed possible to exceed the 90-90-90 UNAIDS targets within a relatively short period.
